Motorola is a renowned smartphone brand which needs no further introduction. They have recently launched Moto M smartphone in Indian market. It is a medium level smartphone (in terms of price) that is supposed to demolish all competitors around same niche and budget. Here we will be discussing common technical specifications of Moto M smartphone and will also try to figure out whether it is a threat to all competitors or it is similar to any other normal smartphone.
Nokia is too going to enter Android smartphone’s world very soon. Till now they have announced smartphones like Edge 2016, C1 etc. Nokia is going to launch smartphones for all levels of market which means they are going to launch something to compete against smartphones like Moto M, Moto G4 also. Talking about price of Nokia Edge 2017 then it might come up with launching tag of somewhere around Rs. 40-60K. It is going to be a high end smartphone so Moto M lovers don’t need to worry about it at all. We will update you once Nokia or some other company launches something to compete with Moto M beast.
Technical specifications of Moto M Smartphone:
It comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display that provides 1920×1080 viewing resolution with 16M color support on LCD type screen. Viewing angles are wide and colors are vibrant. As far as the screen specs are concerned, then Moto M makers have done a good job so far.
It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS which is although not the latest Android version but we can expect it to get Android 7.0 Nougat refresh very soon. You won’t find much difference between Android Marshmallow and Nougat in terms of performance. Talking about other smartphones of same segment, then most of new smartphones are introducing latest Android Nougat OS at same price point.
Coming to processor cabinet then it is deployed with a mediocre 2.2 GHz Octa Core Mediatek Helio P15 processor with 3GB and 4 GB RAM variants. Mediatek chipset is something to worry about here. Mediatek are mostly used in low end smartphones which are not capable of performing well with high end games/apps. It seems Moto M makers have made a blunder by using Mediatek CPU here.
Moto M comes with 16 MP rear and 8 MP front facing cameras. Rear camera comes with dual LED flash whereas single LED flash is embedded with front facing camera. Resolution of the camera is good and it can capture pics at 1920×1080 pixels. It is impressive and must be bliss for all camera lovers out there. It provides the option to record high definition videos at 60 and 30 fps. As far as the camera unit is concerned then Moto M scores well here.
64 GB internal memory with expandability option is there which ensures ample amount of space for all kind of use. With Moto M you won’t need to worry about memory management and other similar issues. All standard connectivity options like Bluetooth, USB, NFC etc are there to make it a social machine. Dual SIMs can be operated on Moto M smartphone which is similar to any other smartphone of similar range.
Coming to the battery compartment then it houses a strong 3050 mAh Li-Ion battery that can keep it charged for well 1-2 days of full usage. There was a scope of embedding slightly powerful battery but 3050 mAh too looks good at respective price point.

Price and availability of Moto M Smartphone:
Moto M is launched for initial price tag of Rs. 15,999 in Indian market. As of now it is available in golden color body only. Other color variants will be launched very soon. You can easily get it from online stores like Amazon, Flipkart etc.
As far as the specifications are concerned then it seems to be a satisfactory phone with decent screen, camera and memory units. Mediatek processor is something that drags down the entire repot and might impact the sale status even. Other than processor, Moto M seems to be a powerful smartphone that can be considered at Rs. 15-17K range. Do let us know your views on same in comments.
